God of Mercy

Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Jonah 1:9

What do I do with God’s Word to me?

What do I do with God’s message through me?

Am I comfortable in God’s presence?

Which communities and peoples and “races” do not matter to me?

What risks and discomforts will I accept in order to declare God’s message?

Does God want me to attempt to effect Nineveh-type community change?

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me” (Jonah 1:2).

[The Scriptures say in Jonah 3:3 -- So Jonah arose, and went...according to the word of the LORD]
from Jonah 3:3

He Shall Come!

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.

Matthew 25:31

Matthew 25:31-46

Why am I given this sneak peek and advance notice now?

Among whom do I live: sheep or goats?

What drives my compassion?

How aware am I of another’s needs?

Am I ever allowed to ignore another’s needs?

Which is my standard: doing good or not doing bad?

Which eternal destiny am I choosing?

“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left” (Matthew 25:33).

We have been forewarned and none of us shall be exempted. I have been told ahead of time about a day and an occasion that no one shall avoid: Judgment Day. God in His grace has also told me the measure that shall be held up to us.

Note to self: Let the Spirit of God search out your heart to show you how you measure up so far. Allow Him to help you make necessary adjustments. Renew your commitment to live today in light of That Day.
