What do I do with the holy?
How do I “handle” it?
The Lord is great in Zion;
and he is high above all the people.Let them praise thy great and terrible name;
for it is holy.Exalt ye the Lord our God,
and worship at his footstool;
for he is holy.Exalt the Lord our God,
and worship at his holy hill;
for the Lord our God is holy.Psalm 99
That title doesn’t seem particularly inspirational.
But I think it’s what I should focus on this morning.
No doubt when you read Psalm 96, something different will impress you.
Sing unto the Lord,
bless his name;
shew forth his salvation from day to day.Declare his glory
among the heathen,
his wonders among all people.O worship the Lord
in the beauty of holiness:
fear before him, all the earth.Say among the heathen
that the Lord reigneth…
he shall judge the people righteously.
