Reading:
Proverbs 18:13-24

“The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity: but a wounded spirit who can bear?” (14).

With courage, people carry on despite adversity.

Without courage, who can bear up under anything?!

The weight of discouragement is so heavy that carrying any additional load is nigh impossible.

So let me be an encourager…a load bearer for those who feel hopeless and strengthless. With kindness and forbearance and patience. And joy. And faith. And love.

And…somehow…let me begin at home.

Who has God for Helper
Reading:

Psalm 146

Here is one of the beatitudes of the Old Testament:

“Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God” (Psalm 146:5).

So many people do not have God for their help and hope.

  • Some never heard of Him.
  • Others don’t know Him.
  • And yet others ignore Him or forget Him.

So their help and hope lies elsewhere.

And eventually, they are left shattered.

I am so blessed to have God!

So let me keep Him as my helper. And let me keep my trust in Him.

Put not your trust...in whom there is no help (Psalm 146:3)
