This morning I read Psalm 6 by “mistake.” (I realized that only now as I typed the previous sentence!) According to my schedule, it was time to read Psalm 36. (October 6 is September 36, you know.)
Some verses seized my heart in this short Psalm, including these:
Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak:
O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.My soul is also sore vexed:
but thou, O LORD, how long?Return, O LORD, deliver my soul:
oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed:
let them return and be ashamed suddenly.(Psalm 6:2-4,10)
