And the Lord shall cover him all the day long

I went to bed last night, very troubled.

Like Peter, I “saw the wind boisterous.” And like him, I “was afraid.”

So this morning’s reading was especially good for my soul…

Underneath are the everlasting arms. -Deuteronomy 33:27

When he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? -Matthew 14:30,31

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. -Psalm 37:23,24

The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders. -Deuteronomy 33:12

Casting all your care upon Him, for he careth for you. -1 Peter 5:7

He that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye. -Zechariah 2:8

They shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all. -John 10:28,29

Yes, like Peter, I see the wind boisterous. And fear tries to embrace me. Tight. Does embrace me. I need the everlasting arms, underneath.

Like Peter, I need to cast all my care upon Jesus, for He cares for me.

He is able . . . to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him. -Hebrews 7:25

Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? -Isaiah 50:2

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? . . . I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:35,38,39
