My heart is steadfast, O God, fixed and focused solely on You!

Availability, steadfastness, strength, peace, trust, perfection, stability — much to aspire to here!

O God, my heart is fixed. -Psalm 108:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? -Psalm 27:1

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. -Isaiah 26:3

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. -Psalm 112:7,8

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. -Psalm 56:3

In the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy: I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. -Psalm 27:5,6

The God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered awhile, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. -1 Peter 5:10,11

My heart is steadfast, O God, fixed and focused solely on You!

And the reminder that came after the non-accusatory complaint

This morning, as I prayed briefly before reading, I said, “I don’t know what to do.”

I listed several major things I’m still grappling with:

  • Bills
  • Strained relationships
  • A projected trip to Mexico

I started reading . . .

Be not far from me; for trouble is near. -Psalm 22:11

How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? -Psalm 13:1,2

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. -Psalm 27:9

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. -Psalm 91:15

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. -Psalm 145:18,19

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. -John 14:18

Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. -Matthew 28:20

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. -Psalm 46:1

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. -Psalm 62:1

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. -Psalm 62:5

I can still do that.

No, I’m not any closer to knowing specifically what I should do about some of those big things. But it’s good to be reminded to lean on God.

I want to do that. Better. Always. Consciously. Instinctively.

Oh, and here’s why the post title uses still: I Don’t Know What to Do!
