So I finally got to Psalm 119 this morning. Would you read all 176 verses in one sitting? I didn’t.

Instead, I opted to read every 29th one. (Today is the 29th of the month, you know.)

Remove from me the way of lying:
and grant me thy law
graciously.

I intreated thy favour with my whole heart:
be merciful unto me
according to thy word.

They had almost consumed me upon earth;
but I forsook not thy precepts.

Uphold me
according unto thy word,
that I may live:
and let me not be ashamed of my hope.

I cried with my whole heart;
hear me, O Lord:
I will keep thy statutes.

I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord;
and thy law is my delight.

From there I went on to finish the rest of the chapter.

I found Psalm 110 difficult to personalize. In verse 3 I find room to put myself, though:

Thy people
shall be willing
in the day of thy power,
in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning:
thou hast the dew of thy youth.

I consider myself one of the Lord’s people.

I want to be willing.

Not only that, I declare myself willing.

Now, by His grace, to live willingly….
