God blessed me this morning with the following selections from His Word.

I have italicized the theme that impressed me.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but thou shouldest keep them from the evil. —John 17:15.

Blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. -Philippians 2:15

Ye are the salt of the earth, . . . the light of the world. -Matthew 5:13,14

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is heaven. -Matthew 5:16

I also withheld thee from sinning against me. -Genesis 20:6

The Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

So did not I, because of the fear of God. -Nehemiah 5:15

Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. -Galatians 1:4

Delivered from evil!

I ask God to do that for me and mine.

And I want to do as Nehemiah did — choosing not to do evil, for I fear God.

What is in my heart?

What is most abundant in my heart?

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. -Matthew 12:34.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. -Colossians 3:16

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. -Proverbs 4:23

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. -Proverbs 18:21

The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. The law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slide. -Psalm 37:30,31

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. -Ephesians 4:29

We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. -Acts 4:20

I believed, therefore have I spoken. -Psalm 116:10

Whosoever . . . shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. -Matthew 10:32

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Did you know God recorded that in Proverbs? I did. I still forget.

I’d like to harness my tongue’s power for life!
