Reading:
Proverbs 14:24-35

“The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death” (32).

What would you add as commentary to any portion of that verse?

I wasn’t going to comment anything, but I’ll say just this bit:

I’m grateful for the hope of joy in this life.

And the joy of hope in death.

Proverbs 12:15-28

What’s a good word?

Something said that encourages, commends, or uplifts.

A good word can cause a shift in focus toward that which is positive.

A good word can be a statement of thankfulness for an individual or an acknowledgement of some good he has accomplished.

There is so much negativity going on out there. A good word fights that.

What else can you say about a good word?

Here’s what got me going on the subject:

“Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad” (25).

Perhaps this verse seized my attention because I have been struggling with heaviness of heart for the last while.

Here and there I have heard good words that have helped lift my spirit.

But the verse doesn’t stipulate who says the good word!

If the one with the heavy heart and the stooped heart chooses to give good words to others, will his own heart become glad?

I’ve got to try that!

This is exciting!!!
