God blessed me this morning with the following selections from His Word.

I have italicized the theme that impressed me.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but thou shouldest keep them from the evil. —John 17:15.

Blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. -Philippians 2:15

Ye are the salt of the earth, . . . the light of the world. -Matthew 5:13,14

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is heaven. -Matthew 5:16

I also withheld thee from sinning against me. -Genesis 20:6

Delivered from evil!

I ask God to do that for me and mine.

And I want to do as Nehemiah did — choosing not to do evil, for I fear God.

In light of all that has happened — and not happened — in the last 2-3 years, my heart has a really hard time accepting that this might be meant for me at this particular time in these particular circumstances. 🙁 I am not sure my mind does any better, by the way.

I am with thee to save thee. —Jeremiah 15:20

Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee. And all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. -Isaiah 49:24-26

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. -Isaiah 41:10

We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. -Hebrews 4:15

In that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. -Hebrews 2:18

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. -Psalm 37:23,24

Having said what I did to introduce this, I testify that I believe the above to be true.

I also believe that, if it doesn’t apply to me at this time, the fault is solely my own. “Let God be true, but every man a liar” (Romans 3:4).
