He Shall Come!

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.

Why am I given this sneak peek and advance notice now?

Among whom do I live: sheep or goats?

What drives my compassion?

How aware am I of another’s needs?

Am I ever allowed to ignore another’s needs?

Which is my standard: doing good or not doing bad?

Which eternal destiny am I choosing?

“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left” (Matthew 25:33).

We have been forewarned and none of us shall be exempted. I have been told ahead of time about a day and an occasion that no one shall avoid: Judgment Day. God in His grace has also told me the measure that shall be held up to us.

Note to self: Let the Spirit of God search out your heart to show you how you measure up so far. Allow Him to help you make necessary adjustments. Renew your commitment to live today in light of That Day.

Iniquity and Love

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Matthew 24:12

Matthew 24:1-14

How alert and discerning am I?

Could I swayed by deceivers?

“Then shall they deliver you up” — Do I qualify as a target?

How deep and secure is my loyalty to my fellow Christians?

What effect is iniquity having on me?

Is my spiritual commitment now sufficient to carry me through to the end?

Is the gospel of the kingdom going forth from me?
