Flee to Follow

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

1 Timothy 6:1-16

How well do I honor (visibly and in my heart) those to whom I am accountable?

What evidence exists that I value “the name of God and his doctrine”?

“He is proud” — would such a description alarm me if it were applied to me?

“Godliness with contentment” — what’s with that? And what does one have to do with the other?

What is my own perspective of wealth, money, gain…and stuff?

“Flee these things” — how and why and when…and did I yesterday?

Am I committed to being one who will “lay hold on eternal life” rather than one who “will be rich”?

“I give thee charge…keep this commandment” — which one? And how would I summarize it?

[The Scriptures say in 1 Timothy 6:14 -- Keep this commandment without spot]
from 1 Timothy 6:14

Show Us, O God!

Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.

Psalm 90:16

Psalm 90

Is it troubling to me that my secret sins are exposed to the light of God’s face?

How (and how often) do I number my days…and for what purpose?

“O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90:14).

What place does God’s mercy have in my personal satisfaction?

Why might God want His beauty upon me?

[The Scriptures say in Psalm 90:17 -- Let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us]
