Not just any refiner. The Only-Wise One!

Not just any unrefined object. Me!

He knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. —Job 23:10.

He knoweth our frame. -Psalm 103:14

He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. -Lamentations 3:33

The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. -2 Timothy 2:19-21

He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. -Malachi 3:3

I . . . will refine them as silver is refined, . . . they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, the Lord is my God. -Zechariah 13:9

Refining is good.

Refining is desirable.

Refining is essential.

Refining hurts…

From my reading yesterday morning:

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. —Psalm 119:18

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures. -Luke 24:45

It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. -Matthew 13:11

I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. -Matthew 11:25,26

We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. -1 Corinthians 2:12

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand. -Psalm 139:17,18

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? For of him, and through him, and to him are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. -Romans 11:33,34,36
