And...it shall be opened.

In my prayer time this morning, as I wrestled again with my overwhelming need, I remembered what one of my ministers told me recently: “Just ask.”

He based his statement on what Jesus said.

So in my praying, I dared ask. Again. Specifically. Wearily. Hopefully. Doubtfully?

Then I read the following Scriptures:

Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil! And God granted him that which he requested. —1 Chronicles 4:10.

The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. -Proverbs l0:22

When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? -Job 34:29

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. —Psalm 3:8

How great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men. —Psalm 31:19

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. -John 17:15

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. —Matthew 7:7,8

The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. -Psalm 34:22

How about that! 🙂

My trust is in the Lord. Can I possibly go wrong with that?

Enjoy what God has given you, Mark.

Yeah, I know. That’s far better and more grateful than complaining about what I don’t have.

But in my (rich) enjoyment of what I have, let me not forget the Giver.

The living God giveth us richly all things to enjoy. —I Tim. 6:17.

Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; . . . then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God: . . . for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth.

Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. —They got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them —There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Deut. 8:11,12,14,18. Psa. 127:1,2. -Psa. 44:3. -Psa. 4:6.
