As he loved cursing,
so let it come unto him:
as he delighted not in blessing,
so let it be far from him.

Psalm 109:17

I don’t curse, so the first part of that verse slid by me this morning, almost unnoticed.

But the second part…. Ah, me! I must become a better blesser.

Now for a few more excerpts from Psalm 109:

But do thou for me,
O God the Lord,
for thy name’s sake:
because thy mercy is good,
deliver thou me.

For I am poor and needy….

I am gone like the shadow….

My knees are weak…
and my flesh faileth….

I became also a reproach….

I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth;
yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

For he shall stand
at the right hand of the poor,
to save him from….

I would like to type so much from Psalm 107 because I want to emphasize what blessed me in my morning reading of it.

Instead, I urge you to read the whole thing for yourself. For now, though, only two things I’ll call attention to.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them out of their distresses.

That’s verse six. And it’s essentially repeated in verses 13, 19, and 28.

Oh that men would praise the Lord
for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

That’s verse eight. And that basic refrain is repeated in verses 15, 21, and 31.

I do neither as often as I need to.
