Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

Psalm 130:1

Reading:

Psalm 130

“Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications” (Psalm 130:2).

“I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope” (Psalm 130:5).

[The Scriptures say in Psalm 130:4 -- There is forgiveness with thee]
from Psalm 130:4

No Deception

Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

Psalm 120:2

Reading:

Psalm 120

“In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me” (Psalm 120:1).

“In my distress” — right in the middle of real living.

“I cried” — acknowledging need, defeat, despair, sadness; proclaiming His goodness, power, faithfulness, mercy, greatness.

“Unto the Lord” — of course; to whom else would I turn?

“And he heard me” — no surprise there.
