Every morning, I read the Scriptures.

So…why do I not remember through the day what I read in the morning?!

Well, anyway. Today I reached Psalm 85.

Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people,
thou hast covered all their sin.

Turn us,
O God of our salvation,
and cause thine anger toward us
to cease.

Wilt thou not revive us again:
that thy people
may rejoice in thee?

I will hear
what God the Lord will speak:
for he will speak
peace unto his people,
and to his saints:
but let them not turn again to folly.

Surely his salvation is nigh them
that fear him….

Righteousness shall go before him:
and shall set us
in the way of his steps.

Once again, I just read a chapter in the Psalms.

And once again, I find something to hang on to.

But I need to learn and to remember to hang on far tighter than I do.

…My heart and my flesh crieth out
for the living God.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house:
they will be still praising thee.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee….

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer:
give ear, O God of Jacob.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield:
the Lord will give grace and glory:
no good thing will he withhold
from them that walk uprightly.

O Lord of hosts,
blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Psalm 84

“No good thing” is a mighty big, all-encompassing statement, Lord. Dare I take it at face value? Then help me today to “walk uprightly.”
