He Shall Come!

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.

Why am I given this sneak peek and advance notice now?

Among whom do I live: sheep or goats?

What drives my compassion?

How aware am I of another’s needs?

Am I ever allowed to ignore another’s needs?

Which is my standard: doing good or not doing bad?

Which eternal destiny am I choosing?

“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left” (Matthew 25:33).

We have been forewarned and none of us shall be exempted. I have been told ahead of time about a day and an occasion that no one shall avoid: Judgment Day. God in His grace has also told me the measure that shall be held up to us.

Note to self: Let the Spirit of God search out your heart to show you how you measure up so far. Allow Him to help you make necessary adjustments. Renew your commitment to live today in light of That Day.

Hear Him

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Matthew 17:5

Matthew 17:1-13

I like life’s highs (even though sometimes I find myself dreading the lows that I know are sure to come).

“Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here…” (Matthew 17:4).

Apparently good ole Peter wanted to prolong the experience.

I would have also, I’m sure.

But we have to come down.

Jesus went with them.

I’m glad He goes with me as well.
