“Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance” (Matthew 3:8).

What kind of fruit has repentance produced in my life?

Or what kind of fruit would it produce?

Of what or from what have I repented?

“And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire” (Matthew 3:10).

I wonder what God is doing with the tree that is me.

And what He is yet planning to do.

Oh let there not be an axe in my future!

When God reveals His truth, He expects a response.

I want to be like these men who “drove” a long way as part of their response to the truth.

“Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” (Matthew 2:2).

They and Herod had the same information, but their hearts were vastly different.

Let me have a wise man’s heart.

That heart seeks God. To follow Him.

That heart seeks truth. To live it.

No matter what.
