I talk a lot sometimes.

Other times I write a lot.

So I suppose lots of people think they know me.

I’m glad they hear what I say and read what I write, but . . . .

“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” (Matthew 7:16).

What kind of fruit am I producing?

What results from my talking and my writing and my living?

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7:20).

That’s why I ask, “What am I?”

Not posted til November 11. A few days ago I got home from my third mission trip to Mexico in two months. I leave on another one in several days!

“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Matthew 6:20).

Sometimes I fret because it seems I have too much stuff here.

And other times I fret because I don’t have enough of this world’s stuff.

So that verse “clicked” for me. Let me treasure the things that God treasures.

Yeah, but what is that?

Maybe I ought to try reading the Bible with that quesion in mind.

I think this verse fits the subject also:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

What do you think?

Actually posted on November 8. I just got home from my third mission trip to Mexico in two months.
