Go to Jesus:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

When I am terribly burdened…or when I’m lightly burdened…when my work seems much…or little — is my answer Jesus?

And how about taking His yoke, thus accepting His being Master?

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” (Matthew 11:29).

And thus another key to rest: humility.

Those who learn His meekness and lowliness find rest.

Posted on November 16. Yesterday I arrived in Mexico on my second mission trip — after being home one week.

“Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him” (Matthew 10:4).

As I travel alone, I know I will have plenty opportunities to betray the Lord.

There are magazines to look at, Web sites to browse, TV programs to indulge, and real live people to study.

Not only that, I will have occasions to behave in ways that don’t fit a Christian.

I purpose not defile myself.

“But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:33).

I purpose to be faithful to Jesus, to my wife, to my family, and to my church.

I didn’t post til November 14 from the airport in Tucson, Arizona. I’m on my way back to Mexico for my third mission trip there in two months.
