Is this for me too? "The Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand."

“I need more money.”

“Why?”

“So I can provide for my family, pay my bills, clear my debts, brighten my testimony, and give to the kingdom.”

“What about getting wealth and stuff?”

“Give me neither poverty nor riches,” (Proverbs 30:8).

I think of that verse fragment fairly often.

I thought of it again this morning when I read this:

The Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. -Genesis 39:3

Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. -Psalm 128:1,2

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. -Psalm 37:3,4

Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. -Joshua 1:9

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall he added unto you. -Matthew 6:33

As long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper. -2 Chronicles 26:5

Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: and thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. -Deuteronomy 8:11,17

Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? -1 Chronicles 22:18

Daily Light on the Daily Path — June 8, Morning

I forgot.

I thought in my heart the way I wasn’t supposed to.

I was wrong.

I have repented.

I have learned…again…that pride flattens.

Now I ask Him repeatedly to “build the house” (Psalm 127:1).

Don’t make my mistake.

And learn these lessons: Do This to Minimize Failure.

God bless you and prosper you…as He measures prosperity.

And the Lord shall cover him all the day long

I went to bed last night, very troubled.

Like Peter, I “saw the wind boisterous.” And like him, I “was afraid.”

So this morning’s reading was especially good for my soul…

He shall dwell between his shoulders. -Deuteronomy 33:12

Underneath are the everlasting arms. -Deuteronomy 33:27

When he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? -Matthew 14:30,31

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. -Psalm 37:23,24

The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders. -Deuteronomy 33:12

Casting all your care upon Him, for he careth for you. -1 Peter 5:7

He that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye. -Zechariah 2:8

They shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all. -John 10:28,29

Daily Light on the Daily Path — April 26, Morning

Yes, like Peter, I see the wind boisterous. And fear tries to embrace me. Tight. Does embrace me. I need the everlasting arms, underneath.

Like Peter, I need to cast all my care upon Jesus, for He cares for me.
