Someday I must appear before the judgment seat of Jesus. Doing so is not optional; I have no choice in the matter. I must appear there.

Even the timing of that appearance is not mine to decide. That appearance could be today or fifteen years from today. Again, the choice is His.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, where it be good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

Thankfully, He has forewarned me what that judgment will be about.

I will be rewarded good or evil according to the good or evil I have done with my body.

Only as I yield it to Him can I use my body in a way pleasing to Him.

In that I do have a choice!

Can the world see Jesus when they look at my life?

2 Corinthians 4

God shined in my heart, driving away the darkness and bringing me into fellowship with Him.

Now that Gospel light must shine from me.

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost” (2 Corinthians 4:3).

How often do those who need it most miss the Gospel light . . . because it is so well hidden in my life?

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels” (2 Corinthians 4:7).

[God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light (Psalm 118:27)]
God has shown us light!

The light of the Gospel is the treasure. The earthen vessel is my body. I must allow that light to shine!

“The life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body” (2 Corinthians 4:10).

“That the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh” (2 Corinthians 4:11).

“Can the world see Jesus when they look at your life?”

If not, who loses?
