A Bible acrostic by Noreen Roth, encouraging contentment in God and His care

contentment -- a Bible acrostic by Noreen Roth

Contentment — those who have it and godliness have gained two great things. How do we become content? (Or is the real question, how do we choose contentment?)

Mom sent me her latest Bible acrostic last week. Now you can see it for yourself. 🙂

Casting all your care upon Him (1 Peter 5:7).
Our help is in the name of the Lord (Psalm 124:8).
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure (2 Timothy 2:19).
The word of the Lord endureth for ever (1 Peter 1:25).
Ezra had prepared his heart (Ezra 7:10).
Nevertheless I am continually with thee (Psalm 73:23).
The Lord is my shepherd (Psalm 23:1).
My God shall supply all your need (Philippians 4:19).
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4).
Now unto Him that is able to keep you (Jude 24).
There is laid up for me a crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 2:8).
“I am content for this I know,
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!” –Mund

Thank you again, Mom! 🙂

And five of Mom’s other acrostics:

I encourage you to read the full text of the verses Mom used for her acrostic in this post:

“Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved” (Philippians 4:1).

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

“Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:8).

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19).

“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” (1 Peter 1:25).

“For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments” (Ezra 7:10).

“Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand” (Psalm 73:23).

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1).

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalm 100:4).

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 24).

“Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel” (2 Timothy 2:8).

Surely you could add something...
