Psalm 55
Sometimes I feel abandoned. Or at least neglected. (Feelings are that way, you know, too loose with the facts.)
Whether others abandon or embrace me, God hears me. Whether I moan or praise, God hears me. Whether others chuck or cherish my friendship, God hears me. What should that do for my feelings?
“Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication” (Psalm 55:1).
“For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it…” (Psalm 55:12).
“As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” (Psalm 55:16,17).
How much will I cry out to God today? Or will I just continue on in morose sadness and bleak hopelessness?
Don’t be dumb, Mark.
