Reading:

John 9:1-11

“…Master, who did sin…that he was….” (2).

Lesson: Don’t make assumptions or jump to conclusions about the reasons behind another’s condition or “misfortune” — God’s thoughts and ways are far higher than yours. Your great perceptions may be nothing more than unjust misconceptions.

“…But that the works of God should be made manifest in him” (3).

Lesson: Don’t argue with God’s plans and purposes. He is always just. And right. And inerrant. And loving. And grace-giving.

Question: Would I endure a lifetime of blindness just so God’s works could be shown in me? Yes? Well, then, what else will I endure for Him and His purposes and His glory?

“…And made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes…with the clay” (6).

Lesson: Don’t reject God’s ways. Don’t even argue with them. He knows what He’s doing. Always.

“…Jesus…said unto me, Go…and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight” (11).

Lesson: Do what God says. His ways and methods always work as He intends. They are fail-safe. Go ahead and stick out your neck! Just do it!!
