Why should I praise the Lord?
That’s a question I don’t ask.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t live it way, way to often. (That’s another way of saying that I don’t praise the Lord much.)
When my church isn’t what it should be and my family isn’t what it should be and I’m not what I should be, for what should I praise the Lord?
When I’m far behind in my work and we have water in our basement and both of our vehicles need fixing, for what should I praise the Lord?
When I’m discouraged and suspicious and hurt and confused and lonely and rejected, for what should I praise the Lord?
When my vision has dried up and my goals have moved beyond my reach and my . . . .
OK. That’s enough of that. You get the idea by now.
Why should I praise the Lord?
“Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant” (3).
That makes sense!
