Reading: Luke 9:1-17
Needs. I have so many of them! I believe Jesus can replace each of my needs with full satisfaction.
Just as I know He met needs for others. Like this:
“And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets” (17).
But the question remains, Will He?
He could, yes.
In today’s reading, well over five thousand folks had their hunger need-of-the-moment taken care of.
And not just barely, either. They had more food left over than they had to being with! Jesus’ provision that time was so abundant that some later needs were met as well. (After all, surely Jesus didn’t allow twelve baskets of fragments to be dumped.)
So He did, yes.
But will He?! Meet my needs? Today?
Yes.
But I must spend sufficient time with Him. I must stay near to Him. And I must do as He says. And accept what He provides. (That’s what the people did on that momentous occasion.)
