Reading:
Luke 10:1-16

I don’t suppose I have to care in order to obey. But it would be much, much better if I did.

“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest” (2).

So what’s there to obey?

Pray for laborers to go into the Lord’s field to bring in His harvest. It is a huge (and worthwhile) harvest, you know. But so few workers out there!

Be a laborer bringing in the harvest. It is a worthwile harvest, you know, and stunningly huge. And so few in the harvest crew!

But do I care?

Enough to be a laborer?

Or at least one who prays for there to be more laborers?

So often, I forget the call — to pray, to go.

Obviously I don’t care enough.
