God wants me to avoid sin. To put it another way, He doesn’t want me to sin.

So one thing He did was write me a long letter.

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not…” (1 John 2:1).

One reason God had the Bible written is that I might not sin. Wow!

Alas, even though God has written much and done much to keep me from sinning, I still sin at times. Maybe even lots of times.

He’s done something about that too!

“And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”

advocate — One that pleads in another’s behalf; an intercessor; a supporter or defender.
