Can I image the pain and anger that coursed through Jesus when He lamented:

“For God commanded . . . . But ye say . . .” (Matthew 15:4,5).

I want my spiritual senses sharpened to detect when this is happening around me.

And when it is happening within me.

“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me” (Matthew 15:8).

I don’t want to be one those who sounds close to God from his speech and his writing, but whose heart is far, far away.
