I have my way of living. I talk, think, and act in certain almost-predictable ways. My values and purposes affect (and are affected by) my ways.
Do any of my ways line up with those of the ungodly?
How do my values line up with theirs? My speech? My attitudes? My facial expressions?
Proverbs 4:14 and 15 caused my thoughts to end up in this channel.
“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.”
“Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.”
Get it?!
STAY AWAY!
(And I don’t apologize for shouting it. If I knew how to pound this virtual “pulpit,” I would do that also.)
“God divided the light from the darkness” (Genesis 1:4).
“What communion hath light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14).
“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).
“Shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18).
May my ways today be a little more light. Then they will be less dark.
Purpose with me to reject the godless way today — to avoid it, to not pass by it, to turn from it, to pass away from it.
