“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate” (Titus 1:16).

Who is they?

Might they include me?

Could I be so deceived and self-deluded that I don’t realize my works deny God?

I profess to know God.

And (in this blog, at least) I profess to want to know God.

But what do my works declare?

This reminds me again of Proverbs 16:3 . . . .

“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

I do indeed want to have a right profession. I want to have right works. I want to have right thoughts.

God help me or I’m sunk.
