The Voting Christian: Helping God

Is voting our part in God exercising His sovereignty over the affairs of men?

I believe the Christian should abstain from voting in political elections. I leave in the hands of our sovereign God the setting up and taking down of political leaders.

I have Christian friends, though, who believe that voting is our part in God exercising His sovereignty over the affairs of men. One of them wrote to me in a Facebook comment:

Ken Miller Moved to Different Jail

Moving Ken to another jail, while troubling at certain levels, will open up a new sphere of witness and influence for him.

So he was moved from “his” Vermont jail to one in New York.

Is the judge trying to break his resolve by moving him further away from family and friends? Perhaps.

Maybe the judge is hoping that Ken will end up with cellmates who are less supportive.

Who knows.

But I know this: God’s hand is in it. And moving Ken to another jail, while troubling at certain levels, will open up a new sphere of witness and influence for him.

May God continue to sustain Ken and his family.

And may God bless Judge Sessions, the US Attorneys, the US Marshals, the jailers, and any other individuals on the “opposite” side from Ken.

Now, about Ken… I’ve been receiving emails through the day so far. I’ll just post snippets from various sources with no attribution. These are posted in the order in which I received them. Read it all

Ken Miller Goes to Jail for a Week

Judge Sessions is being faithful to his calling in one kingdom. Kenneth Miller is being faithful to his calling in another kingdom. May God bless them both.

So Ken Miller goes to jail for not answering all of the grand jury’s questions.

Judge Sessions is being faithful to his calling in one kingdom.

Kenneth Miller is being faithful to his calling in another kingdom.

May God bless them both.

Why God Sent His Son

God said He sent His Son that we might live, to be the solution for our sins, and that He might adopt us. Why else?

God sent His Son into the world…

  • “that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9).
  • “to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).
  • “that we might receive the adoption of sons” (Galatians 4:4-5).

Looking at a Towering Stack of Failure?

If you are, may I entice you with hope in the midst of failure, defeat, and discouragement? All things are possible with Christ! He is the God of all hope.

I just read From this day forward by Andrée Seu Peterson. Wow!

Before giving you the link to her article, some excerpts to entice you with hope in the midst of failure, defeat, and discouragement:

He has given me a husband who lost 30 years in addiction and 12 years in prison and who assures me constantly it’s not too late because God will use every bit of it for our good, our children’s good, and His glory, and will restore all the years that the locusts have eaten.
