So what would a conservative Mennonite care about mere earthly politics? And why?
Patriotism as a temptation is an interesting concept to me.
I’ve been poking at the outer edges of it as I slowly prepare for Sunday evening at our home congregation. That’s when and where I’m supposed to talk for some 35 minutes on “Avoiding the Temptation of Patriotism.”
I hope I can offer some helpful, challenging, encouraging perspectives. Read it all

I believe most (or is it all?) of you each declare yourself to be Christian. (My opinion of your profession is of no consequence for this post, if at all.)

As the child saw the famous emperor, so I see New Hampshire. Read it all
I just saw this on the Facebook page of a fast food joint:
“Like this post if you’re as honored as we are that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. graced the world with his presence.”
The quote just begs some questions. Read it all
Who will indeed.
Will it be one of their own?
Will it be one of their own choosing?
Or may it be one imposed on them by some religious or political cartel?
I confess amazement at the Supreme Court’s decision yesterday: Read it all
If the man is a Christian or interested in becoming one, I can understand a Bible study.
Otherwise, I wonder if this is being called something it isn’t.
After all, a practicing Jew doesn’t accept the Bible as a whole, does he?
Makes me wonder: Will this study even be using Bibles? Genuine, sixty-six-book, two-testament Bibles? Read it all
