Fingering a Ballot

I was at Yahoo! News. I saw a set of thumbnail pictures. I noticed one in particular. I clicked on it because I wanted to see if the photo were clear enough to read the writing on the document.

Though I couldn’t read the writing, I wondered if I could read the message.

To put it another way, I was astounded at what I saw.

Fingering a Ballot?

What would make this photo a subliminal message?

What would make it obscene?

What would make it racist?

What would make it illegal?

What would make it a victory statement?

What would make it viral?

Never Mind the Stories

I didn’t read them.

But I did read these headlines “above the fold” at Drudge:

And this one at Rosenberg’s blog:

Oh, and does www.mediasplatters.com stand for Media Splatters or Media’s Platters?

SHOCK: MCCAIN VOLUNTEER ATTACKED AND MUTILATED IN PITTSBURGH

Was it a racist attack?

(Just asking.)

On second thought, maybe it was a sexist attack.

What does the B stand for?

Barack?

B**ch?

Brave?

UPDATE

Confession: I made it up

A McCain-Palin campaign volunteer who claimed she was robbed and cut by a supporter of Sen. Barack Obama has confessed to making up the story, police sources told the Tribune-Review.

Why do people pull dumb stunts like that?

Oh, I know — “they” got to her and threatened her to the point of making the above confession. πŸ™„

Whatever the case, search your own heart: Are you disappointed this isn’t something that can be made to reflect on the Obama campaign?

That aside, this reminds me of what the “mantra” (what does that word mean?!) used against a black Supreme Court nominee — “It’s the seriousness of the charges” that matters, whether or not the charges are true. Maybe somebody will use that same logic in this case. “So she made it up. What of it? It still says something about Barack that such charges would be so believable.” blah, blah, blah

The End

πŸ™‚

A Pre-Election Expectation

It’s late…too late to be doing this. This is my last computer activity of the day.

In a final effort to seal the coffin of McCain’s electoral chances, the economic picture will be allowed (or further forced) to darken in the next several days.

The wild ride is not yet over.

Rest in Jesus, and you will have peace.

Good night.

Mark4Prez: My (Possibly) Last Word(s)

OK, so (as I’ve said in previous posts) I’m at the ripe old age to meet the Constitutional requirements to be President of the United States.

Amazing! πŸ˜€

Furthermore, I think I would make a reasonably good President.

(Frankly, I think I could be the President the country needs at this time.) 😯

In light of all of the above, I have generously offered my name as one to use for write-in votes.

But you should know this:

  1. If drafted, I will not run.
  2. If voted for, I will be grateful.
  3. If elected, I will resign.

So there you are.

Any questions?

Perhaps in a future post I can elaborate a little on why. For now, suffice it to say that my Christian convictions and heavenly citizenship/ambassadorship overrule the option of my serving the United States in the capacity of President.

Is the White Horse House Ready?

Look, I know it’s bedtime.

But hey, there’s a Pennsylvania Democrat on the loose! 😯

Obama ‘admits’ Kenyan birth?

Pennsylvania Democrat Philip J. Berg, who filed a lawsuit demanding Sen. Barack Obama present proof of his American citizenship, now says that by failing to respond Obama has legally “admitted” to the lawsuit’s accusations, including the charge that the Democratic candidate was born in Mombosa, Kenya.

As WND reported, Berg filed suit in U.S. District Court in August, alleging Obama is not a natural-born citizen and is thus ineligible to serve as president of the United States. Though Obama has posted an image of a Hawaii birth certificate online, Berg demands that the court verify the original document, which the Obama campaign has not provided.

Now Berg cites Rule 36 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which states that unless the accused party provides written answer or objection to charges within 30 days, the accused legally admits the matter.

Since Obama has only filed motions to dismiss and has not actually answered the charges in the lawsuit, Berg claims, according to Rule 36, Obama has legally admitted he is not a natural-born citizen.

Now Berg is asking the court for a formal declaration of Obama’s admission and asking the Democratic National Committee for another presidential candidate.

Is this where Hillary comes riding in on her white horse, headed for the White House? πŸ™„

But never mind that. Since it’s bedtime, how about someone’s “dream”?

Long National Nightmare

Last night, I woke up in a sweat. I’d had a very bizarre dream . . .

NOVEMBER 5 — There was Wilson over Hughes. And, of course, Truman over Dewey. But there’s never been a surprise in presidential politics like the one that awaited Americans this morning, who woke up to discover that, somehow, John McCain had been elected president over Barack Obama.

[…]

Obama conceded around noon today, promising that, though the revolution he promised had been temporarily derailed, “we are the future.” Right now, however, the immediate future belongs to John McCain.

Whoa, that was scary! Note to self: never listen to Limbaugh before bed time . . .

So there you are.

While I Waited

Here I sit, waiting for my slow (31.2 KB) dial-up connection to muddle its way through Amazon’s Pro Seller (or whatever it’s called by now) site.

So I looked at headlines at Drudge and Newsmax.

Do five simple things a day to stay sane, say scientists

Simple activities such as gardening or mending a bicycle can protect mental health and help people to lead more fulfilled and productive lives, a panel of scientists has found.

[…]

β€œA big question in mental wellbeing is what individuals can do,” Felicia Huppert, Professor of Psychology at the University of Cambridge, who led part of the project, said. β€œWe found there are five categories of things that can make a profound difference to people’s wellbeing. Each has evidence behind it.” These actions are so simple that everyone should aim to do them daily, she said, just as they are encouraged to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables.

Five steps to sanity. That shouldn’t be too hard.

Palin: Election Result Rests ‘In God’s Hands’

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin describes herself as a “hard-core pro-lifer” and expresses confidence that in spite of disheartening polls, “putting this in God’s hands, that the right thing for America will be done at the end of the day on Nov. 4.”

She is right.

Above all, love God!
