How to Eliminate Coronavirus Hype

A straightforward solution whose principles are already kicking into gear globally...
How to Eliminate Coronavirus Hype

No, not how to eliminate the virus. Like all viruses, it will just have to run its course.

This is about how to lower the hype to normal-flu levels. Zero pretty much. Eliminate, in other words.

Israel and Italy are under full-blown quarantine, right?

Air travel is curbed, right?

Public assemblies are being canceled, right?

Even (some/the) Democrats are calling for canceling further campaigning, right?

To eliminate the coronavirus hype, to brush COVID-19 right out of the news… Read it all

Oregonians Bite the Hand That Heals Them

Unless they bit their own hands...

I see this morning that yesterday’s health tax ballot here in Oregon passed handily.

I don’t know if the yea voters did so in a fit of largesse at the public trough. Or if they poked the Yes key (is there such a thing?) out of consistency with their well-practiced personal pocketbook expressions of compassion for the needy.

Whatever the motivator, they approved a pile of new tax dollars for hospitals: Read it all

Presidential Election 2016: Whatever the Result

If Christ's church doesn't show Jesus, we all lose.

Maybe your man Trump will win and Hillary the Evil Empress will lose. Maybe your woman Clinton will win and Donald the Perverted Pied Piper will lose. Whatever your view of the candidates and whatever the result of the Presidential election, the state of your heart matters far more. Read it all

How Does God Choose When the Options Are Vile and Evil?

Analyzing the dilemma of the 2016 US Presidential election

We think we know that Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States. We’re sure it won’t be Bernie Sanders or Ted Cruz. And we’re certain it won’t be Jill Stein or Gary Johnson (did I get their names right even?).

Maybe it won’t be any of those. Read it all

Conscripts for the US military, that is.

Possible draftees, you know.

The House Armed Services Committee took a big and unexpected step toward making women register for the draft Wednesday night…

An Anabaptist Prophet Looks at the Iowa Caucuses

What's with making the results tonight so significant?

Before speaking to that question, I’ll tell you a bit more about this post by promising to answer three other questions as well:

  • Who sounds most genuinely friendly to the Christian faith: Clinton, Cruz, Rubio, Sanders, or Trump?
  • Who are the Christian candidates in the race?
  • What should be my role in the process?

Yesterday I thought again of the bizarre nature of national Presidential politics in the United States. The towering gullibility of the collective American mind is demonstrably bizarre.

Consider the two-ring caucus presently launching the opening act of Let’s Elect a President 2016.

The hawk-eyed Iowans will gather tonight to chatter and vote their hearts or minds in an effort to select a party standard bearer in each major political party. What comes out of Iowa tonight is supposed to be Really Significant.

Look. I don’t want to be unkind or sarcastic, but I have to be blunt. Iowa is only one of fifty states. What’s with making the results tonight so significant? Weird. Read it all

Choice: Women’s Bodies

What are the limits to the "choice" logic of Roe v Wade?
My Body My Choice anti-Dobbs protest placard

On this day, millions without natural affection (and millions of others) celebrate: enough Supreme Court “justices” figured out a woman can do what she wants with her body.

As a result of Roe v Wade, a girl or a woman in the United States may legally…

  • Sell one of her kidneys for research, transplant, or knick-knack.
  • Accept pay in exchange for welcoming a man into her body.
  • Destroy an embryo (or kill a fetus or slice up a baby) within her.

It’s her body, after all. Read it all

Above all, love God!
