New Hampshire Speaks

Well, folks, according to what Drudge is headlining at this moment (and it keeps changing every few minutes), Obama and Edwards failed to knock Clinton into third place…and Thompson got knocked into sixth place:

OBAMA 36; CLINTON 37; EDWARDS 17; RICHARDSON 4; KUCINICH 2...
MCCAIN 38; ROMNEY 29; HUCKABEE 11; PAUL 8; GIULIANI 9; THOMPSON 1.

That may signal the end of Thompson, branded by some pundits (many, perhaps?) as the only true conservative among all of the above.

In which case, maybe it’s time to make my move.

Packs Pursuing Presidency

DJ Drummond has an interesting (and in its own way, funny) post over at WizBangBlog. Here’s his opening:

I still remember my first elected office. I was out sick from Junior High, and when I returned to school the next day I discovered that I had been elected to Student Council, without my knowledge and against my will. In those days and at Lake Highlands Junior High, Student Council meant having to come early to school and do extra work for no visible benefit or reward. Consequently, Council members were usually elected against their will. It had, if nothing else, a certain honesty to it – none of the members really wanted to be there, and so elections were pretty straightforward affairs. Not so the White House, a difficult and draining post for anyone who wins the office, and yet there is no shortage of incompetents who believe they are a perfect fit for the job. Worse, there are many people running in any given year, whose performance would be damaging to the country and so they should be quickly dissuaded from chasing the nomination.

I’ve been far too busy with more important things to post here regarding my own Presidential ambitions.

But DJ’s post reminds me.

😀

We’ll see.

Should I Run for President?

That matches the question that raced through my mind this morning:

Could I be President of the United States?

According to the US Constitution, I have to meet these three requirements:

  • be a natural-born citizen of the United States
  • be at least thirty-five years old
  • be a resident in the United States for at least fourteen years.

I meet all three requirements. Easily.

Perhaps in a future post I’ll develop this idea further.

😉

PS: I just read that Mr. Bloomberg de-Republican-ized himself. If he’s considering a run as an independent, maybe this post of mine will give him pause. If it doesn’t, let him spend his billion.
