I’m not here to report on the news. You don’t need that.
I’m here to let you know how you can help, if seeing and hearing about the unfolding collapse in Iraq makes you wish you could help the suffering ones somehow.
You know about Christian Aid Ministries, right?
Here are some excerpts of what they have to say about ISIS in Iraq and the crisis going on right now:
A crisis of immense proportions has once again engulfed Iraq.
The takeovers by these insurgents and the fear of government reprisals have terrorized many Iraqis. Beheadings, amputations and even crucifixions are being used by the ISIS to cultivate fear and enforce Islamic law.
An estimated 500,000 people have fled their homes in what has been called “one of the largest and swiftest mass movements of people in the world in recent memory.”
We are currently communicating with our contacts in Iraq about the best way to assist in this crisis. A CAM staff member plans to arrive in Kurdistan on June 16 to assess the situation.
Pray for Iraqis facing fear and displacement.
Pray for the Islamic militants, many of whom believe they are doing God’s will.
Pray for God’s people in Iraq who are suffering and trying to help the suffering.
Pray for the light of Jesus to shine brightly through His people.
Pray for CAM as they investigate the best ways to assist in this time of crisis.
