We are.
Does that mean we too are collapsing?
Not necessarily.
How do I change that answer to “No!”?
Before I get to that, I just want you to know that I considered two other titles for this post:
- Faithful in Contemporary America
- Thriving Spiritually in These Last Times
Those two, along with the one I actually used, are three (similar) theme ideas I came up with for our annual Bible Conference at Hopewell Mennonite Church.
I attended a planning session on February 26. Also with me, some topic ideas:
- Lighting the Darkness
- Being Wise as Serpents and Harmless as Doves
- Preparing for Perilous Times
- Seeking First Things First
- Overcoming Fears and Anxieties
- Loving God First of All and Above All
- Showing the Face of Jesus at WalMart
- Influencing Politics and the Civil Society
- Acknowledging God in All Our Ways
- Hungering and Thirsting After Righteousness
- Discerning and Refuting Ecumenicism
- Cultivating an Ongoing and Expanding Revival
- Living in Holiness Amid the Normalization of Perversion
- Building Each Other Up in the Most Holy Faith
- Knowing for What to Live…and Die
- Offering Anabaptist Christian Solutions
- Warning the Wanderer and Rescuing the Lost
- Sustaining the Weary
- Anchoring our Families
- Exercising Wisdom in Our Use of Electronic Media
- Loving the Scriptures
- Watching in Prayer
- Walking Humbly With My God
- Responding Redemptively to Failure
- Taking Our Place Among the Called and Chosen and Faithful
And that’s all I have to say for now. 🙂
Looks like a very timely topic and theme. Wish I could be there for the conference. Any chance it will be streamed or at least recorded and made available for download?
thanks.
Alas, I wasn’t sufficiently clear. 😳
The themes and topics were ideas which I had with me at the meeting. However, I didn’t present them til late in the meeting (I’m kinda bashful that way). So what you read above is not what’s on the “agenda” for the conference. When I know the program, I’ll try to remember to post it.
Regarding live streaming, nope. Regarding recording, extremely likely. Regarding availability for download, less so.
Thanks for your supportive interest, Rob!
