Up Close, in Mexico

Here are more pictures taken on our recent trip to Sonora, Mexico. As the post title suggests, the subjects of the photos are relatively close to the lens.

[So, so tiny hummingbird nest and eggs!]
These hummer eggs were so tiny!

[Honey bee hard at work]
Early “bird” hard at work.

[Pretty flower; neat water droplets]
I like the water droplets.

[Saguaro and 'buds']
What are saguaro “buds” called?

[Hanging rock in little cave at one of the beaches at San Carlos]
It’s not as big as it looks.

[Paquito, Margaret Miller's parakeet]
Just like Paquito isn’t as big as he looks.

[Margy's outdoor thermometer saying it's hot]
Margaret Miller’s back porch:
in the shade at 3:43 in the afternoon on April 26, 2008
(a few tenths of a degree short of the day’s high)
