Proverbs 25:19-28

That is one of God’s character traits.

Thus it should be a character trait of each of God’s children.

The confidence others have in me should be rewarded with faithfulness on my part.

Otherwise…

“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint” (19).

As an aside, it’s interesting to me to read this verse this morning. Less than three hours from now, a memorial procession is to begin for Captain Tom Tennant of the Woodburn Police Department (Oregon). He was killed a week ago this evening in a bomb explosion at the freeway West Coast Bank in Woodburn, Oregon (my former home town just down the road nine miles). Also killed was Bill Hakim, a state trooper in the Oregon State Police. Critically injured was Woodburn’s police chief, who is still hospitalized in critical condition.

Officers Tennant, Hakim, and Russell — faithful men in time of trouble.

God bless Chief Russell and grant him renewed health and strength.

And God bless and comfort and sustain his family and those of the two fallen officers.

May God also keep and comfort and bless all other law enforcement officers…particularly today as they honor and mourn their fallen comrades.

And may God develop a little more His faithfulness in me today.

[For men to search their own glory is not glory (Proverbs 25:27)]
from Proverbs 25:27

A little bit more from Proverbs 25: My Enemy and I

Surely you could add something...
