If God told me to be sure to hear something, would I?
Well, He did!
“Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world” (Psalm 49:1).
What could possibly be in this Psalm to merit that kind of introduction?
Maybe you can tell me.

Talk about having my bases covered! Just think about this:
“For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death” (Psalm 48:14).
I have made Jesus Christ my guide for life through life. And He has accepted the assignment that trust has laid upon Him.
Furthermore, I have yielded to God for eternity, not just for this life. And He has agreed to be my God for that long.
I need no other guide. I need no other god.
But I wonder what will cross my way today that will tempt me away.
Whatever it may be, I purpose not to yield.
