The EAF Board of Directors is pleased to announce the creation of The Center for Evangelical Anabaptism as the next phase of the ministry of EAF. The heart of The Center's program is a series of seminars and courses through which EAF will promote a perspective on Christianity and contemporary culture which is uniquely evangelical and Anabaptist. Both The Center and EAF's administrative offices are currently located on the campus of Cornerstone Seminary in Harrisonburg, VA. The Center's first course, "Contemporary Issues Facing Evangelical Anabaptism," will be offered January 5-9, 1998. For more information, including registration forms, contact our Harrisonburg office. As a way of recognizing persons who have made a notable contribution to the cause of evangelical Anabaptism through lives and ministries which reflect godly character and a commitment to excellence in a spirit of humility and faith, the EAF Board has established The Menno Simons Award for Distinguished Christian Service, to be presented annually. This year's recipients are Dr. Arthur M. Climenhaga, former President of Messiah College, former Executive Director of the National Association of Evangelicals, and long-time missionary/educator/denominationa l leader with the Brethren in Christ; and Bradlee T. Bame, associate pastor of Maplewood Mennonite Church in Fort Wayne, IN, and a former member of the EAF Board of Directors, who is recognized for his work in youth evangelism and his potential for leadership within evangelical Anabaptism. We are currently working on a site for EAF on the World Wide Web. In addition, we would like to develop an e-mail network for regular communication with our members who have access to the Internet. If you use e-mail and would like to be included in this network, send a note to our office at eakouns@rica.net. In a few weeks we will post the entire list to all EAF members on it, and we will use the network to keep our members informed and to offer perspective on vital issues of concern to evangelical Anabaptists.
