Richard, Rescued Veteran

I remember him as a doorman at the now-defunct Rescue Mission in Portland (Oregon).

He served there, helping rescue down-and-outers.

Some of them were quite wrecked.

Early this morning, Richard was rescued from this life.

Rescued, I say!

He had a long walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Accompanied, I believe, by the Good Shepherd.

Now another of Hopewell’s spent veterans is Home.

Complete, whole, well, perfect — Richard Allan (1920-2011).

“Precious
in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his saints.”

Psalm 116:15

May the Lord comfort and bless his family…and reward them further for their faithful service to Richard in his last days and years.
